Joe Brandl (in center on slider) enlisted in the US Navy from January 1968 to January 1972 and served as an Aircrew Survival Equipment Technician 3rd class. He was a two- time member of the Tonkin Gulf Yacht Club, USS Constellation, and USS Enterprise. Joe served time in DaNang Air Base as part of a detachment from the Enterprise and spent 4 months in a Naval Hospital due to a parachuting accident. Joe says, “The worst part of my enlistment was the grief and insults directed towards me when I returned to the US.”
